Bus from Athens Airport to city

Athens Airport is connected to downtown by four bus lines (x93, x95, x96 and x97) operated by OSY.

These lines also get to KTEL Terminal, Liosion bus terminal and Piraeus.

All of them run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

They operate with a frequency of 30-60 minutes.

Route x93: Athens Airport – Kifissos ktel

This route connects Athens Airport with Kifissos KTEL long-distance bus station.

Total trip time is 65 minutes with 40 minutes’ frequency.

Route x95: Athens Airport – Syntagma Square

By this route you can get to Syntagma Square in Athens city centre. 

Trip time is 60 minutes.

Route x96: Athens Airport – Piraeus

Get directly to the Piraeus port.

This is the suitable option in case you wish to take a ship or a ferry to the Greek islands.

Trip time is 90 minutes.

Route x97: Athens Airport – Elliniko metro station

Route x97 connects Athens Airport with Elliniko Metro Station.

It departs every 40 minutes up to 60 minutes and trip time is 45 minutes.

Buses stop outside arrivals, between exits 4 and 5, while disembark is done outside the departures level.

Location

KTEL buses depart from Arrivals level, between Exits 2 and 3, opposite the Airport Hotel, and arrive at the Departures level.

Ath.ena Card

By the Ath.ena Card you can get convenient fares to travel to and from Athens Airport.

The card can be used for 90 minutes up to 5 days and is rechargeable. It can be purchased at any metro station, ticket office and at the automatic ticket machines.

The Anonymous Ath.ena Card is really worth for passengers travelling to Athens since it can be charged and recharged from 90 minutes to 5 days and used to transfer from both metro and bus from Athens Airport.

On the other hand, if your stay in Athens is for less than 3 days, our recommendation is to purchase the 3-day tourist ticket.
